I’ve had a million ideas lately about things I could be writing about on this blog. Okay, maybe more like 10 or 20 ideas. Still, that’s a lot of ideas when there doesn’t seem to be a lot going on in my life right now! So, why am I sitting here, staring at the screen blankly?
No, I don’t have writer’s block. I have brain fog. More specifically, allergy head. My Fall allergies are already starting to act up. I won the genetic lottery with a horde of minor allergies. I’m itchy and sniffly most of the year, with Spring being worse than Summer and Winter. But Fall is by far the worst time of year for me.
I try to hold out as long as possible before pulling out the heavy meds; I don’t really like the side effects. So I’ve been dealing with the itchy eyes, and ears, and skin, along with some minor sneezing, a slightly runny nose. But I’ve been having a lot of trouble concentrating the last week or so, and today it finally hit me: Sinus pressure. My brain feels like it’s about to explode, and my thoughts keep going all foggy. It’s the weirdest feeling.
So, my apologies for a slow week. Hopefully by next week I’ll be happily medicated and close to being back to my normal self. Assuming I didn’t miss my “window” to start my meds. If I waited too long, most likely by this time next week I’ll be suffering from a sinus infection.
Don’t you just love allergy season?
